GATE 2023: The first GATE exam was conducted in 1983
The GATE examination was first conducted on February 26, 1983. According to the information brochure, it was essential for students to crack GATE in order to get admission to postgraduate engineering programmes to these institutes - IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, and IISc Bangalore.

Candidates should keep a check on their registered email IDs and phone number as IIT Kanpur may send information and details related to the GATE 2023 result through email or SMS.
